Last modified date

If you are facing any problem even after doing everything like Ubuntu website told you to do, i was trying to boot my computer with USB flash drive(pen drive) but when i started booting from flash drive it shows me an error saying

error : unknown filesystem
error : no such device: /disk/info

GNU GRUB version 2.02
Minimal BASH like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions
grub>_

opens a command prompt like grub> to enter something.

Why this error happens ?
The first thing is you have’t done anything wrong making your USB-Flash drive bootable the main cause is,
This exception raises when you purchase a new laptop or desktop like Dell, Lenovo,Acer,HP,Compaq they are booted with UEFI mode enable by default for some security reasons. so you need to disable this UEFI mode and let your PC be in legacy mode to continue with the Ubuntu installation or default Ubuntu boot.

How to fix – Minimal BASH like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions.
1. Make sure your PC is booting in Legacy mode.
2. Turn off the UEFI mode
3. Make sure that you pen drive is formatted in default file system like NTFS or FAT depending on your Hard drive Partition

The 3rd point could not cause error in many cases but the 1,2 point are the main cause of abnormal exception mostly caused during the installation of Ubuntu or installing other OS to your PC Machine.
